Slavick 08
| Name: | Slavick 08 |
| Office: | State Representative |
| Website: | slavick08.com |
Background:
I hold a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, have received three advanced training certificates from UNITAR, and hold a B.A. from Ursinus College in Politics.
I have experience and currently work on international economic and legal reform projects. I am also a founder of the nationally distributed legal journal the "Pittsburgh Tax Review."
Goals:
I am running for State Representative to honor my family tradition by giving back to the County they worked so hard to serve.
I hope to bring transparency and reform to the politics of Harrisburg. The primary focus of my campaign is to help improve the economy of Pennsylvania and my district while respecting the way of life we now live.
Our area needs someone with a fresh perspective in order to prosper. More importantly we need someone who has the best interests of the people of our county in mind, not the best interest of Harrisburg lobbyists.
Issues:
Better government: Lobbyist/Campaign reform, Streamlining Government and representing the interests of the voters of Pennsylvania.
Economic Growth: Our area has suffered in recent years due to stagnant economic growth, therefore I beleive this issue is paramount. I beleive in sustainable development and smart growth. This includes state investment in sustainable energies.
Fairness in Taxation: Removing the burden of property taxes from those people who are most vulnerable.

Grassroots Support:
I am using a number of tools to help get out the vote in November. Including meeting with local grassroots groups, including the very active local DFA group. Visiting 50 plus Democratic households a day to spread the message of my campaign. Visiting the voters in the local clubs and churches. Finally, we are embracing the legacy of DFA's online "netroots" advocacy by harnessing the power of the web to activate under-represented voter groups.
DFA Values:
I am socially progressive as I beleive in building our educational institutions, improving access to economic opportunity and helping create improved access to affordable health care.
I am fiscally responsible in that I beleive in balanced budgets and will seek to cut government waste.
