Wall Street's been making money by literally disassembling our factory equipment and manufacuring infrastructure and selling it to the Chinese and other $1/day wage countries.  It took decade of design, construction and evolution of processes to built that infrastructure and the capital markets sold it off to the highest bidder on the cheap.

Years ago we immigrated cheap labor, but now the top capitalist pig bosses want all the benefit but no responsibility.  They sell out to China, who lends them money to keep the neocons in power, business as usual, until the bubble burst.

The country loses, the worker losses, the middle class loses, but the consumer gets cheap [and toxic] products. Those who live off capital and stock, and the executives are doing well.  We can consume but we cannot produce.  It is an unbalanced economic structure, and we will eventually have to pay the piper.

We believe the legitimate function of government is to meet needs that we cannot meet as individuals. The government must be truly representative and work for the good of all people, striving to achieve peace, opportunity, fairness and prosperity for all

Everyone thanks for comments on your biggest news. I think I sleeepwalked throught the RFK/MLK murders, the Chicago riots, etc. I was a young housewife then mostly worried about my tiny little world and keeping hubby out of active duty. Also, I think the unthinkable became the norm during that time.

Vote for Barack in this aol online poll. 

 I know, it's an online poll, unscientific, but AOL voters are dial-up, blue collar folks (one could assume), and this poll is specifically about Obama's totally made up, so-called patriotism problem who's flames the corporate media is trying to fan.

I think Obama should at least consider Tom Daschle as VP. He was a very popular white, male Democratic Senator (and former Maj leader) from a Red Midwestern state.

 He also spoke out about the Iraq war on it's eve.  In fact, his speech on the topic eventually led to him losing the majority leader's job and his Senate seat, through a repug dirty election and paid bloggers in SDak.

Daschle essentially took one for the team on Iraq and he, like Obama (and Howard and Gore), turned out to be right.

What do you think?

    Sen Daschle did vote yes on taking us into Iraq though. The difference between him and Hillary is he admitted it was a mistaken vote shortly after. I think not admitting her vote was a mistake was one of the things that hurt Hillary early on.

  She played it by the book, but forgot an important fact. The fact that we've had seven years of a Commander in Chief who did nothing but make mistake after mistake, but wouldn't admit to even one. The fact that having our next Commander in Chief unable to admit when she made a mistake would be the last thing we would want in the White House again.             JM in NY

Phil what the heck...(lol) Government has to do with our “needs that we cannot meet as individuals”?

Looks like, as soon as Government is involved we are getting immediately somehow less individuals...lol.
CAN we preserve our individuality and yet meet our individual needs doing something collectively WITHOUT the Government involvement, if we CAN DO IT WITH IT?

Or do we need Government as a “leader”, (a policemen, a law enforcer, a judge)??? Are we, the People, able of DOING THE SAME WITHOUT the Government or we do need NANNY?
