Thrusting America's Love Outward
Linked to groups: Don't burn the flag. Wash it!
I compel you to love your country.
To draw her into your arms ever so tenderly,
To embrace her softly, dearly to your heart,
To huddle close, near together her masses,
And sense her least sustained yearning.
I compel you to love your country.
A nation that lifted the breast of humanity
Caressing it tenderly toward equality’s rapture
With gentle fingers of selfless, searing desire
Exploring over her ever toward paradise.
(Click Read More for the rest of this post)
Freedom lovers damp in stiff-limbed writhing
Stumbling kisses upon red-barreled bravery,
Softly probing her robust and supple liberty,
Heed now her cries of woeful sovereignty!
I compel you to love your country.
Between her Trail of Tears and Mount Misery
She still waits upon the coupled plains of affection
Ready for our design and mastery of this worlds love
Panting heavy expectation upon her shape.
I compel you to love your country.
Perched upon the shore of Rolles Creek she waits
With Mount Pleasant in reach of her willing fingers.
With expectant sounds of closure now within her folds
She lunges forth with an expectant mouth!
I compel you to love your country.
O! Gentle sleep now beckons to her languid pink flesh
As the rogues tongue laps at her ebbing shores of joy
And beckons her let go of her valuable love’s embrace
Lunging forth behind her eager lips!
She counters not… for she is the boiling hunger we seek.
What a devoted worship we’ve had with the motherland.
Many a great poet has written their songs upon her flesh;
Their bright and shimmering waters lapping her shores
In ardent freedom’s want of hopes howling, dripping heat.
I compel you to love the world!
On this day of days let us remember her youthful glow,
Her ripe fruit of wonder, her drowsy ache of emancipation,
Her most alluring burnish upon our exploring of her skin.
(The burden of immense throbbing now falls upon her heart!)
I compel you to love the world!
America, carry your waves to all shores. Hope, not savagery,
In your goodness, not in impudent desire to control destiny.
Leave not the naked child, but your desire alone on the road.
Shelter not your intentions, but those most needful and hungry.
I compel you to love the world!
We have been witness to our dove, crippled and flailing in terror!
We’ve been onlookers to our expectations emerging fruitless.
Watching unmoved while our oily desire bleeds into the waters
And the cold white eyes of death tread progressively before us.
I compel you to love the world!
Come now, peace. Come now, warriors, lay down your guns
To witness the beauty at your hands as she lays down your sword
And with dripping red lips envelops your craving to possess her.
Do you not hear the night voices calling you with an angels whisper?
I compel you to love the world!
To open the door and step out into the bright sun, desire can wait.
Take notice of the many tender, breathing, soul-caked living.
Gaze upon the world’s most unbendable faith in humanity.
Gently touch her skin, delicately massage her furious soil.
I compel you to love the world!
Enter her sculpting space and weave a covering made of lifeless war.
Paint upon her face a gentle art made of your temples sweat.
Scribe a love song upon her back with the eagle’s most willing blood.
Erect in her a tower of light for all to see that they might weep.
I compel you to love the world!
The masses of age lie here and we should not be so ready to die
Like confused animal’s hooved in selfishness, deficient and artless.
The world is full of freedom lovers damp in stiff-limbed writhing
Stumbling kisses upon red-barreled bravery, tenderly probing liberty.
I compel you to love the world!
Amid her supple lands and majestic mountains she waits our affection,
Ready for our desire and design embracing her most ready warmth
Needing our hot hope upon her shape, wanton as wide-eyed first love.
(Heed now the world’s hot desire for freedom pulling us in.)
With hopeful whisper's within her waters, she leans forth, expectant.

Baltimore Cop Rivieri Surfaces in Another Video
The Last Movement
February 16, 2008
http://www.infowars.com/?p=296
New video of Baltimore police officer Salvatore Rivieri in action at the Inner Harbor. This time he confronts Billy Friebele, an artist from Washington D.C., who was videotaping at the Harbor last summer.
Our buddy officer Riviera gets suspended with Pay for his violent outburst. This is the second video of officer badcop.
Friebele said he was taping the reactions of passersby to a box he was moving with a remote controlled car. Officer Rivieri is seen on tape kicking the box off of the car and then kicking the car. The officer then orders Friebele to leave the area.

Hillary's Hispanic Support Eroding
WASHINGTON (CBS4) ― Senator Hillary Clinton's last stand in Texas hinges upon a large number of Hispanics voting for her. This is the same strategy the junior Senator from New York used in California, where support upon Hispanics was large. However, new polling from Gallup shows serious trouble may be on the horizon for Clinton.
The latest Gallup poll shows support for Illinois Senator Barack Obama among Hispanics has grown to a statistically significant lead. A full 50% of those surveyed chose Obama, while 46% supported Clinton. ...Only a month ago, Clinton led Obama by a nearly 2-1 margin with 63% supporting her to Obama's 32%.

PROVIDENCE -- Michelle Obama, wife of Sen. Barack Obama, will visit Rhode Island on Wednesday...
On Wednesday afternoon, Michelle will attend an invitation-only launch event of the Rhode Island Women for Obama in Providence.
Later that evening, Michelle will host a “Stand for Change” rally with her brother, Brown University basketball coach Craig Robinson.
The rally will be held at the Community College of Rhode Island, Knight Campus, in Warwick. The Student Dining Commons will open at 5:45 p.m. and admission is free and open to the public.
Denise, my personal past and future have no hold on me and I will be fine regardless of who's prez, even McCain. I was referring to the country. Perhaps concern would be a better word.
Anyway, I fell sound asleep, again, during most of BO's speech.
Now he's making promises that even god couldn't fulfill. :)
"My job will be to keep you safe and will do whatever is required..finest military in the world"..............swell.......just build up the military, BO, for other ME wars. I thought the people were going to have a say in his gov't. Guess not. Whatever are we going to say and do when he claims that there is "actionable intel" and we have to invade some country or other? How do we become truly active participants to stop him from becoming yet another unitary executive with a congress who won't/can't impeach and a supreme court who could care less about totalitarianism?
Bright side. Maybe he'll be smart and choose Boxer or Feingold or JE to run with him.
He's been marketed very well indeed....sold to the voters.
He really thinks people are going to turn off their TVs and not let their kids watch so much? Or maybe he just thinks he's powerful enuf to change millions of people who are addicted to one thing or another.
He talked like he's already won the nod. Smart move, or cocky?
Good thing I'm not swooning and setting myself up. I really hoped Reid/Pelosi would do something, and they didn't. But I never trusted either of them either. Nor believed their rhetoric.
I wish the public were a bit more skeptical and more realistic.
OK, I'll shut up....since I believe voting has been a sham for many years and the powers behind the curtain choose for us, with the complicit media.
This quote from BO should concern all BO supporters, but it doesn't seem to.
Excerpt from a BO speech.
"You need to come to church in the first place precisely because you are first of this world, not apart from it. You need to embrace Christ precisely because you have sins to wash away - because you are human and need an ally in this difficult journey.:
These are not the words of a progressive spiritual thinker. Quite the contrary. The christ/sin thing is very evangelical and OT. This kind of talking turns people like me off...we already have that.
Good luck to America. We shall see.
Way to go Cheeseheads!!!!
Lisa Caputo (from the 90's - ya'all remember her?) on MSNBC whining about all the money Obama spent in WI because Clinton is spending her resources in the BIG STATES. Wake up. Lisa!!!!
What did you folks think about Obama coming out to speak before Hillary was finished? I thought it was rather ungracious but I was watching CSPAN and Clarence Paige and/or Roger Simon put forth that he was declaring her basically irrelevent -- that he was running against McCain now.
Don't think I'll make it till HI is finished so I will say goodnight until it be morrow sweet blorgie. And yes that was borrowed :~)

US Will Add to Surge by Summer

Andrew Gray of Reuters reports: "The United States will probably have more troops in Iraq this summer than it did before pouring in forces last year - even after a planned drawdown, a US general said on Friday."

horny toads with warts
Interesting on MSNBC...BO supporter couldn't list anything about BO which would make him a good prez or something to that effect.

Obama waited an appropriate amount of time. This isn't Iowa or NH. They were in different states and had audiences waiting. 20,000 at Obama's in TX, how many at Clinton's in Ohio? They weren't even in Wisconsin.
I thought it was tacky Clinton didn't even mention Wisconsin or thank her people up there at all. She's done that before. If she doesn't win, hell with 'em. It's on to the next state. Very disrespectful.....worse than a scream.
More nefarious dealings.

Mukasey warns Turkey on recent expansion of Al Qaeda presence
By Zeynep Gurcanli
"We are watching Al Qaeda closely. And we have seen in the recent period that they have increased their activities in Turkey" he told Turkish Justice Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin and Interior Minister Besir Atalay, according to sources close to the matter.
In addition, the US head of the Justice Department warned Turkish officials that it "appeared as though Al Qaeda may have chosen Turkey as a base". Mukasey is the first American head of Justice to have made an official visit to Turkey.
Mukasey's meetings in Ankara also focused on the presence of PKK terror in Northern Iraq, and according to sources in Ankara, Turkish officials expressed gratitude for the recent changes in American attitude towards the struggle against PKK terror.
The same officials did however warn Mukasey that the PKK may be trying to sustain its movement in the US "under a different name". Within this framework, Turkish officials told Mukasey that the PKK was trying to organize and operate in the US as a "civil society organization," noting that groups such as the "American Kurdish Information network," the "Washington Kurdish Institute," and the "North American Kurdish National Congress" were all examples of such efforts.

Hi Good People,
I loved Obama's speech. He wasn't afraid to talk about immigration even in Texas and there was some booing. He talked about a president talking about what's real, the difficult things.
He's a wonderful speaker in my opinion, and I haven't been as involved since JFK spoke. I remember listening to JFK on black and white TV during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I was living with a family to support myself through college, and we all sat together, silent, waiting on every word.
Most of all, we do need change, and I think it's true to say it will be difficult, almost impossible, and if we have any chance at all it will be with a leader who can inspire us, someone we trust, and we have to be willing to do the work. That means willing to recognize community, to do our part as citizens, to be willing to pay more taxes if good schools, social security, health care, and infrastructure require it. If we know and believe a high school education is insufficient to compete globally, then we as citizens have to see that additional school is available, affordable to all children, and has the excellence needed.
Anyway, I trust him, am very much impressed with his background, his character, his ability to reason, his commitment. I hope that the country will elect him and that as citizens we will begin to trust each other again and work to fulfill the American promise.
Night all.
Boo!
Indy Steve,
I recall a dustup of Hill's when she was running for Senate the first time.
She went to a diner in one of our small towns as part of her "listening tour", ordered food, listened and had her nice photo op... and then failed to leave a tip.
Later on, when it had hit the local media that she stiffed her waitress, a staffer went back and tipped on her behalf.
But anyway, it doesn't surprise me that she has already forgotten her Wisconsin supporters.

I officially forgive Wisconsin for not trying to save Howard's candidacy in 2004 after your awesome primary tonight!
Thanks, Wisconsin.
Now, Texas, it's your turn to make it up for giving us W.
The Houston crowd at Obama speech tonight was off the hook . Or, I guess that would be really rowdy. (as per my tv)
Fort Hood Soldiers Breaking the Silence in war in Iraq A growing number of active duty soldiers or recent Iraq war veterans are speaking up about the war in Iraq. And with the number of soldiers speaking up about their experiences in Iraq via online forums, blogs and pamphlets, some vets feel it's their duty to let the American public know the truth. "The honest truth is that if the American people knew what was going on over there everyday, they would be raising their voices too. They would be saying, 'Hey, bring those guys home," Sgt. Selena Coppa said. Coppa blames lawmakers in Washington for
I think Obama is the perfect antidote to McCain. The contrast will be stark and revealing.
Will the American people choose hope over fear, the future over the past, young and vibrant ideas over older and tired? I think so.....then obama will really be tested.
Something for everybody:

If you’re an Obama supporter, you know Clinton has too much “baggage” to win the general election.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you know Clinton has successfully fought off the Republican attack machine for the past 16 years, and there’s nothing new to throw at her that will stick.
If you’re an Obama supporter, asking how Obama will deflect right-wing attacks (such as questioning his “Muslim family ties” or dealings with Tony Rezko) during the general election campaign is good strategy.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, asking how Obama will deflect right-wing attacks (such as questioning his “Muslim family ties” or dealings with Tony Rezko) means you’re just a paid Hillary shill and/or “concern troll” trying to smear Obama.
If you’re an Obama supporter, suggesting that Latinos are not voting for Obama because “Latinos hate blacks” is a valid observation.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, noticing that African-Americans are voting overwhelmingly for Obama is racist.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you hate Hillary for her pro-Iraq War Resolution vote, and remind everyone within earshot that Obama never voted in favor of the IWR.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you remind everyone within earshot that Obama was not a Senator at the time of the IWR, and thus no one knows how he might have voted (especially when you consider his votes to continue funding the war ever since), but you get drowned out by the Obama supporters reminding everyone within earshot that Obama never voted in favor of the IWR.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you don’t like the fact that Clinton voted to authorize the Iraq War, but you realize that 76 other Senators, many with far more liberal leanings than Clinton, were duped into a “Yea” vote by the Bush administration’s lies.
If you’re an Obama supporter, Hillary started the Iraq War all by herself.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you remember than Barack supported John Kerry in his 2004 run for the White House, and you think this is fine, because both are solid, anti-war Democrats.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you remember that Kerry voted the same way Clinton did on the 2002 Iraq War Resolution.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you cheer Obama’s plan to start withdrawing troops from Iraq within 16 months after taking office.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, nobody listens when you mention Clinton’s plan to start withdrawing troops from Iraq within 60 days after taking office.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you know you can’t reasonably assume that Hillary is going to bring all the best things about her husband’s eight years of peace and prosperity to the table — you may be getting a “twofer,” but ultimately, it’s Hillary running, not Bill.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you know Hillary is going to bring all the worst things about her husband’s eight years of — well, you can’t remember what was so bad about the Clinton years, except for the Monica Lewinsky scandal, but you’re sure there’s plenty of bad stuff that will carry over into a Hillary Clinton administration.
If you’re an Obama supporter, it’s time for those old, out-of-touch, irrelevant Baby Boomers — in fact, it’s time for everyone over the age of 45 — to get the hell out of the way and hand the reins over to the youth of America.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, of any age, you suddenly become irrelevant the moment you remind the Obama supporters that Obama himself is 46 years old, which makes him a Baby Boomer, too.
If you’re an Obama supporter, 54-year-old Robert F. Kennedy is an out-of-touch Baby Boomer (he did, after all, endorse Clinton).
If you’re an Obama supporter, 50-year-old Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is a savvy, intelligent American (she did, after all, endorse Obama).
If you’re an Obama supporter, you use to revere 80-year-old poet laureate and living American treasure Maya Angelou — until she endorsed Clinton, which suddenly made her old, out of touch, and irrelevant.
If you’re an Obama supporter, 76-year-old Ted Kennedy is neither old, nor out of touch, nor irrelevant, because he endorsed Barack Obama.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you stand behind Obama for demanding that Don Imus and John Tanner be fired from their respective jobs for making racist remarks.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you have no right to demand that Obama fire rabidly anti-gay “ex-gay” preacher Donnie McClurkin — who demonizes gay and lesbian Americans as child killers — hired to emcee an Obama fundraiser chock-full of homophobes.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you agree that marriage equality for same-sex couples is a decision that should be left to the states.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you wonder how Obama can use the same “states’ rights” argument against same-sex marriage that was used against his own parents’ interracial marriage (which wasn’t recognized in a handful of states at the time they were married).
If you’re an Obama supporter, you echo Obama’s repeated mantra of “post-partisan unity,” and agree wholeheartedly that it’s time to “reach out” to Republicans because we can’t get anything done if we’re not all working together.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, pointing out that Obama pits minority groups within the Democratic Party against one another in order to score votes and donations from the larger and more powerful group is just wrong. And racist.
If you’re an Obama supporter, you insist that Obama has not interjected religion into this campaign.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you want to know how Obama can justify his refusal to support same-sex marriage equality based on his own religious beliefs — as well as the religious beliefs of Dick Cheney, “and over 2,000 religious leaders”.
If you’re an Obama supporter, anyone who won’t sign a loyalty oath to vote for Obama in the general election is a traitor to the Democratic Party.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you’re not allowed to take issue with Michelle Obama’s reluctance to support Hillary Clinton if she wins the Democratic nomination.
If you’re a Clinton supporter, you remember how quoting passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock, and “forgetting” to attribute those passages to Kinnock, cost Joe Biden the 1988 Democratic nomination.
If you’re an Obama supporter, plagiarizing a key portion of Deval Patrick’s 2006 campaign speech is a non-issue.
Stay tuned for Part 2. There’s just so much more, presenting it all at once would result in the longest blog entry in the history of the Web.

Counterpunch
February 14, 2008
Well, the Revolution was over before it began…It has just packed up and gone to Texas. It was short, sweet and offered some of us a few moments of self delusion but such is the world of politics.
Ron Paul galloped into our lives, like some aged knight, on an ol’ paint Texas pony, with promises of revolution and ending the war but now Ron Paul is limping back to Texas, to try and save his Congressional seat.
Whether or not Ron Paul is, was or ever will be a ‘racist’ seems a moot point…
Dennis Kucinich too. Gone back to Ohio to try and save his Congressional seat, taking with him his sweet whispers of promise for Impeachment. I guess it’s off the table for good. Nancy Pelosi will be so pleased…
As for the Antiwar Movement?… Well, it didn’t limp off anywhere, it’s just MIA.
Moveon.org continues to support the war mongering democrats and their chosen star de jour is Barack Obama. Even some lefties are getting on board that bus… (Almost makes me pine the John Kerry days…That was a joke, of course…)
Read how Tom Hayden waxes poetic on Obama:
"Many ordinary Americans will take a transformative step down the long road to the Rainbow Covenant if Obama wins. For at least a brief moment, people around the world — from the shantytowns to the sweatshops, even to the restless rich of the Sixties generation — will look up from the treadmills of their shrunken lives to the possibilities of what life still might be. Environmental justice and global economic hope would dawn as possibilities."
Say it ain’t so …
Who will Code Pink endorse? They haven’t decided yet, perhaps they are still too busy mourning the loss of Benazir Bhutto, (I almost fainted when I received that e-mail) but over at Common Dreams, they speculate, Code Pink will likely endorse Obama:
"The group also plans to take an active role in the presidential race, likely backing Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois or former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, both Democrats."
I think The Black Commentator’s Larry Pinkney sums up Obama the best:
"It is both sad and simultaneously horribly fascinating to observe so many euphorically pinning their hopes and dreams on Barack Obama, a chameleon who speaks liberally of "change but who is, himself, beholden to the very same blood-sucking corporate vampires (including Lockheed and others) who are ravaging the peoples of America, and the entire planet. It seems we have moved euphemistically from Dracula to a corporately repackaged Blackula in the person of Barack Obama. In the very name of "change, Obama is moving America euphorically backwards."
And then there’s NOW… NOW endorses Hillary Clinton (which probably has something to do with penis envy) and the world’s just too crazy to be politically active in, anymore.
So, here we are, facing the most critical election in our country’s history and what do we have to choose from?
On the republican side, John (bomb everybody now and let God sort it out later) McCain and Mike (Jesus is a personal friend of mine) Huckabee and as Larry Chin writes, the monsters behind the candidates are (1):
John McCain
Henry Kissinger
Richard Armitage, former deputy secretary of state, covert operative and lifelong Bush ally
Robert "Bud McFarlane, Reagan/Bush national security adviser, Iran, Contra
William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard (neocon)
Alexander Haig, Reagan/Bush secretary of state
George Shultz, Reagan/Bush secretary of state, Hoover Institution, Bechtel
Brent Scowcroft, Ford, George H.W. Bush national security adviser
James Woolsey, former CIA director
Lawrence Eagleburger, George H.W. Bush secretary of state
William Ball, Reagan administration Navy secretary
Colin Powell
Mike Huckabee
Huckabee has been secretive about his team. Among the names floated so far:
Ed Rollins, Republican operative
Frank Gaffney Jr., neocon and protege of Richard Perle
John Bolton, George W. Bush U.N. ambassador (as of this writing, Bolton,s participation is a strong rumor)
On the democrat side, we have Hillary (guess what I’m hiding underneath my skirt) Clinton and Barack (I didn’t vote for that war but watch how quickly I’ll vote for the next one) Obama and the monsters behind these candidates are:
Hillary Clinton
Bill Clinton
Madeline Albright, Clinton administration secretary of state
Sandy Berger, Clinton administration national security adviser
Richard Holbrooke, Clinton administration UN ambassador
Gen. Wesley Clark, Clinton era Kosovo commander
Leslie Gelb, Council on Foreign Relations, former State and Defense Department official
Martin Indyk, Clinton administration Israel ambassador, Brookings
Strobe Talbott, Clinton administration deputy secretary of state, co, creator of Caspian oil "6+2 group, Brookings
Jeffrey Smith, former CIA general counsel
Barack Obama
Zbigniew Brzezinski
Anthony Lake, Clinton administration national security adviser
Sarah Sewall, Clinton administration deputy secretary of defense, counter, insurgency czar
Richard Clarke, Clinton and Bush administration counter, terrorism czar
Susan Rice, Clinton administration Africa specialist and NSC member, Brookings
Bruce Riedel, former CIA officer, NSC Near East and Asian affairs, Brookings
Oh but wait, there’s more!
Hold on to your hats! Rumors abound that Ralph Nader may stage, yet, another, doomed to fail, ninth inning run!
And whatever happened to Cynthia McKinney? She’s running on the Green ticket! (You remember the Green Party, don’t you?)
If there’s any good news, in this election year, it is that Cindy Sheehan’s campaign is alive and well in California.
The bad news is, The Grateful Dead are reuniting to hold a fundraiser for Obama. (I’m just glad Jerry isn’t here to see it…)
A peace activist friend of mine (recently retired) told me, he’s so disgusted with the antiwar movement and politics, he removed all the bumper stickers from his car and went out and bought a flat screen television. He’s done, he’s had it, at least for now.
There is no political process in this country, it’s a rigged game where only certain establishment members get to play. The uneducated voters continue to vote for pre-selected candidates, foisted on them by the mainstream media machine, believing all the while, democracy has been served.
The world has gone crazy… Peace means war, change means more of the same…
The Revolution will not be televised because there is no revolution but you can be damn sure, we will all have a front row seat for the bombing of Iran and the coming of World War III.
Time to go out and buy that flat screen television …

Was just listening to Pat "Nazis were efficient" Buchanan carry on about how Reeps are going to go after Michelle Obama for her recent remark about "finally being proud".
Pat apparently doesn't remember what happened the last time the GOP tried to win by attacking the spouse of their opponent -- Hillary in 1992.
So to the GOP I would say.....go for it.
God, I hate bad poetry. Or perhaps that should be "poetry". . . .
Chalazions, lots of them
I hope Howard is happy tonight. Seems to me that Wisconsin, Washington and Hawaii are examples of that people powered fifty state strategy. To paraphrase.... Yes, we can take this country back!
Since everyone's playing the who's stealing from whom game, I thought I would remind Edwards voters who think Obama is stealing Edwards message that Edwards stole it from Howard. Even Hillary said "take our country back" the other day.
Of course Howard borrowed from Truman and Wellstone.

Barak Obama Fronts Wall Street’s Infrastructure

Swindle - What Change Really Means
Do not be fooled! Barak Obama’s call for National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank (NIRB) does not signal the return of the Democratic Party to the values of FDR and a revival of the Constitutional prerogative to ‘promote the general welfare’, but would rather provide more welfare for Wall Street and worse. Obama’s plan is nothing more than the direct means of instituting the Rohatyn-Rudman National Investment Corporation (NIC) plan called for in 2005, which in essence is a revival of Mussolini’s methods of corporatist control of the state in a politically correct post modern fashion..
When Senator Obama states that his National Investment Reinvestment Bank will magically turn $60 billion into trillions of dollars as he did in his Feb 13th Jamesville, WI speech, one can easily realize that the only way that this can happen is through the perverse magic of Wall Street. What would happen is that bonds floated by the NIRB will be bought on the open market, to then be speculated upon, securitized as derivatives, traded and ultimately used as collateral on the newly built infrastructure. What we will see is the emergence of an infrastructure bubble to replace the mortgage bubble, propped up by initial government expenditures towards infrastructure. This is just the start as Obama will fund the feel good ‘carbon credit’ swap to be the next blast of hot air to make Wall Street giddy. This is a key insight to a true understanding of what is going on. Bailout the financial powers with a clever plan that will raise money to then buy up hard assets, in other words the remaining wealth of our nation, as the meltdown crisis of over a quadrillion in derivatives losses grows and grows..
I think Obama is the perfect antidote to McCain. The contrast will be stark and revealing.
Rachel Maddow just highlighted it.....
Obama: Yes we can.
Hillary & McCain: No we can't.

CHENZHOU, China (Reuters) - Millions remained stranded in China on Monday ahead of the biggest holiday of the year as parts of the country suffered their coldest winter in a century.
Freezing weather has killed scores of people and left travelers stranded before the Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival -- the only opportunity many people have to take a holiday all year.
It has also brought China unwanted negative publicity six
President Hu Jintao chaired an emergency Politburo meeting on Sunday for the second time in a week to discuss rescue efforts.
"We have to be clear-minded that the inclement weather and severe disaster will continue to plague certain regions in the south," said a statement issued after Sunday's meeting. "Relief work will continue to face challenges, posing a tough task."
The China Meteorological Administration said the weather was the coldest in 100 years in central Hubei and Hunan provinces, going by the total number of consecutive days of average temperature less than 1 degree Celsius (33.8 degrees Fahrenheit). somebody need to call al gore and the new world order to stop the carbon tax hell call it a freeze tax! i though the earth was getting hotter? cant be right all the time!

The germ of destruction of our nation is in
the power of the judiciary, an irresponsible
body - working like gravity by night and by
day, gaining a little today and a little
tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step

all shall render powerless the checks of one
branch over the other and will become as
venal and oppressive as the government
from which we separated."

Just heard Tim Russert say that Obama was willing to let Hillary speak first tonight in the hope that she would deliver a gracious concession speech. When she didn't and began to criticize him, he "bigfooted" her -- went on himself and preemted her on every network. No one saw the last 20 minutes of her speech.
And then his speech all but ignored her and was virtually a kickoff for his campaign against McCain.
Tell me me he and his campaign don't understand how to play hardball against the toughest hardballers out there.
