I think the obsession with oil will destroy this planet and everyone on it -including the innocent and the creatures that are not human. I appreciate that Bernie is using the technology of the future to broaden his base-but he has also argued against oil from a moral point of view. I think oil is a moral issue and the lack of morality is showing up in the lying, cover ups and actual murders of indigenous in South America.

It's easy for us as outside observers to see to the heart of the problem, no lobbyists or legal loopholes to muddy our vision. Earth is being destroyed because none of our leaders have been strong enough to say to the American/Indian/European etc people, this has no future. It's not about cheap gas for another few decades, while a few more dynasty pockets are lined. It's about a golden opportunity we are missing. Time for this generation to make some real decisions and sacrifices for the next generation. Doubling the price of gas will soon generate new technology. Taxing the profits of those making money from this destructive industry for it's real cost. Instead short term leaders continue to put band aids on an industry that will cripple us.

Absolutely agree with Senator Sanders. The XL pipeline is a step backwards in our progress as a country. It cannot solve our energy problems by being sold overseas. It is not guaranteed against an environmental disaster occurring. It surely will not fix our energy and economy problems with the same outdated decisions that caused them. It is time to move on to cleaner, efficient, newer technology that will energize our economy. We need to look past the planning for tje oil clean-up disaster routine way of thinking. Stop the XL pipeline now, before it carves a devastating foothold across our country.

Oil is a lubricant. Not a fuel. Use it wisely, and there's enough forever. Burn it up and you have maybe twenty years. Meanwhile, you're wrecking the environment.
