Burlington, VT - The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) submitted a letter today to President Obama to request that CPC leaders be included in the current bipartisan talks to negotiate a comprehensive deficit reduction package, as well as future discussions regarding our nations fiscal solvency. Jim Dean, Chair of Democracy for America (DFA) responds: "When it comes this budget debate, one thing is clear with the American people, it's time to start investing in jobs, education, and the middle class, and to stop giving away tax dollars to big business and Wall Street who are strangling free enterprise in America. The Peoples Budget submitted by the Congressional Progressive Caucus ends the deficit while supporting middle class America. We hope that President Obama will heed the call to make the Progressive Caucus a serious part of these budget negotiations." Read the full letter from the Congressional Progressive Caucus here.
